Susan Wiley is a graduate of Queens College and has worked in nursing
and in publishing before settling into a full-time career in art.
She has studied with several internationally known artists and continues
to do so on a regular basis.
Susan has been juried into many national shows and has won several
awards for her vivid work in watercolors, including the StuArt Award
in the 31st Annual International Open Exhibition sponsored by the
North East Watercolor Society. Susan was recently elected as a signature
member to the Central New York Watercolor Society. Because of her
love for teaching and sharing her knowledge, she holds ongoing classes
in drawing and watercolors and gives workshops as well.
Most of Susan’s paintings are florals, whimsical barnyard
animals, or scenes of Saratoga –all of which reflect a sense
of centeredness, home, and tranquility. Susan also enjoys the excitement
and challenge of painting children’s murals. She has been featured
in Paint Décor magazine for her murals as well as her furniture.
Susan also paints floorcloths and anything else that is imaginable.
